First of all, I would like to apologize for posting here in English. I'm a Canadian, and I'm reaching out for help to the people who I believe know best.
I am creating a project supermoto bike, which will use a CR subframe, air box, forks, clamps, and plastics. I have all the parts for this project, and was intending to purchase a Monnier fuel tank, but I have been told that they are no longer produced  :-[

If anyone knows where I can purchase one of these tanks, that would be great. Used or new, I desperately need to buy one.

Thank you very much!

Grazie mille!

Hi Rishi,

Have you try to contact http://www.spracing.ch/motos.htm ?

It's a desperate attemp as you say they are no longer produced and used are rare...

I had one of the few XR650 Monnier in the past.

Easly available there is an alloy fuel tank made by an italian factory: http://www.blitalia.com/catalogo/dettagli.php?cID=2&pID=5

CRF style...  :)

I have seen the BL-Italia tanks before, they are very nice units, and if I can not find a Monnier, I will purchase a BLItalia

Barte, I appreciate your post!

In my opinion the Monnier fuel tank didn't had a great "value for money".
It was very expensive, like a top quality product, but it was not...

Maybe if they had one more thank at discount price it would be a good purchase..otherwise I'll prefer the BL Italia.

Glad to help

If you broke a radiator shroud with the Bl Italia you can use all the CRF aftermarket plastics and graphics...but if you broke a Monnier shroud.......good luck  :(

However I still have two old Monnier radiator shroud to sell  :D

Humm, I have just finished looking at the BL tank, the new 8 liter version looks very nice. I wish it had the low hanging taps on both sides, that would give it extra capacity and a cool look!

If I bought that tank, and powder coated it black, I think it could look very nice! I may very well purchase the BL italia unit, it actually costs less than the Monnier tank!

Many users here have the BLItalia tank with no regrets :ok:

I think to have saw the Bl Italia tank also in a online USA shop..maybe you don't need to buy it from Italy.
