Hi again  :),here i'll present my 2000 650R witch i bought 7 months ago.I'm trying to do everything with this bike ... commuting, offroad trips and trailriding (sometimes tight trails).
It has some good staff on it as CRD skid plate,Acerbis tank (and OEM),Trailtech Vapor, wide pegs and American style headlight.

These were given to me with the bike +second rear wheel.

Here you'll see what i've done until now.

Cleaned the carburetor, jetting is stock

I bought stop light

Throttle cables position was wrong from the outside area of handlebar

So i repositioned them

I took off these chinese protaper copies (very bad feeling).

And i installed new Pro Grips (very comfort grips).

I have read to xr-italia that in Italy there is not knowing incidents about broken right foot pegs but i don't know if this is same in Greece. So i changed wright foot peg's screws with 12.9 Grade according to this

Changed the seal of cable clutch

The part number of new seal

Installed horn (not very loud and i'll try something else).

Changed oil and cleaned the frame filter

New brake pads
rear

Front

Installed new Twin Air filter because i don't like K/N for dirt riding

Rear wheel spacers fromn All Balls, oem spacers are not in good shape

Autumn and winter i like to do some tight trails so i had change the huge tank with oem.

But petcock was leaking

Honda don't give internall parts to fix this but there are parts from other models witch fit to 650 petcock.
The part number  codes

Changed fuel line with OEM

After

Part number

Friend testing the bike with oem tank, the feeling is like you riding different bike.

Another friend fabricated passenger pegs

Givi rack

For installing the rack i had to put back tail sub frame

New disc brake (for second rear wheel),new chain and 14T front sprocket (i've also 15T).

Old  sprocket plate and part number of new

Oil filter o'ring was leaking so i changed it with new

Swing arm was working well but when i took it apart to grease axle and bearings some of them weren't in good shape

So i changed all of them with Prox kit

As i  said before i have second rear wheel so i was looking for another front wheel to have two sets of wheels, one for off road and another for commuting and trips.
As i was searching to web i saw an interesting and easy to do front 19'' wheel conversion. The NX250 wheel is almost plug and play with 650R.So i bought one and changed bearings, seals and inside collar (spacer).

And put Shinko's 705

First impessions are that this set up works very well to 650R.

To be continued   :birra:

No my friend, tyres are properly fitted.  ;)

Hello again :)
I haven't done something special on my bike,i just enjoying it everyday  :-*

I changed rear caliper seals because the outer (for dust) was in bad shape.

Part number of new

And new pads

I participated to an unofficial enduro race but it was too hard for the big XR,i really missed electric starter  ::)

I did a 3 days trip with friends,i borrowed and install this rack. It's been made for XR600R but it fits with no problems.

Small video from enduro ride with friends, focus on 02:06  :P

Hi again

The horn, rear brake light and  trailtech were not working  so i checked the wiring of my xr.One wire from condencer was cutted so i fixed it

Everything works fine now
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPvGEnzDP6s&feature=youtu.be

I took apart the exhaust tip to clean it ..

But something is missing here.Is this better/worst for engine performance or it doesn't matter at all?

Gasoline spots on frame which shows overflow from carburetor

I didn't took apart the carb,i only rotated it to have acces to float bowl

Float valve seat was like this

So i polished the seat

Much better now and leak has stopped.

Fork oil change

Air gap  was 130mm but i setted it to 120mm

I put in 2.5W

I didn't have wire so i used a rope  :D

Fork performance is much better now and is more comfortable to hard terain.

Pics below are from my last ride one week ago.I had bought this fairing for my (ex) Dominator 650 but i kept it after Domi's sale to use it for long distances with my 650R

Keep enjoying your XR's  :birra:

Hi

I bought this headlight,total cost was 27euros https://www.ebay.com/itm/4x6-High-Low-Beam-LED-Healights-or-Honda-XR250-XR400-XR650-Suzuki-DRZ/263388858468?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20180306143914%26meid%3D1cbd1f74db674b62ae61ceb79e5df2f3%26pid%3D100935%26rk%3D7%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D254040207272%26itm%3D263388858468&_trksid=p2349624.c100935.m2460

Combination of stock and very simple handmade brackets

Headlight gasket is quite expensive (20+ euros) so I tried this

Ready

I don'the know if this headlight is legal in Italy but i think for this price is very good. This is a review (not from me) which I totally agree with.

I have a question: original headlight is AC powered, led headlight needs 9-30 DC Power; have you modified the electrical circuit or led headlight also works with AC power?

This is good question, unfortunately i don't have answer because i'm not good at all about electrics and i don't know if previous owners have done modifications to electrical circuit  ::)  .
I don't use blinkers (flashes) and for brake/taillight i use led bulb.In this video is stock headlight but with H4 55W (or 60W i don't remember) instead of stock 35W and it worked without problems.

Noise from upper bearing of shock (mono).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQuxoYMj1ok

Took off subframe. This job (remove the mono) was so easy to my ex bike (NX650)  :hmmm: .

Seals were found opposite from normal  >:(  and needle bearing was stuck.

New bearing,3.5 euros

Installing new bearing

This was not in good shape but i reuse it (i know this is not right but i didn't have much time to get new one.At least i rubbed it ).

And put everything back to place

Air cut off valve

float valve

I replaced them with new ones from All Balls

Changed cooling fluid

Left swingarm screw was almost stucked so after a lot of
anticorrosive oil i managed to took it off wihout snapped it  [party]

Anticorrosive grease and job done.

Two days ago i had a great ride with a friend for over 300kms  :birra:
